As many of us have, I learned to use Quicken as my Conscious Bookkeeping tool of choice when studying with Bari.
However, since then I have heard a lot about Mint.com and its abilities to help manage money. It looked fancy and tempting, as did moving to an online Quicken app that would let me manage money on the road with my iPhone. What bliss! Making my iPhone my electronic stylie accoutrement? Sounds like paradise.
But how is a conscious bookkeeper to choose among all these options?
Browsing through my email today, I learned that I won't have to. Mint is going to be acquired by Intuit, the parent company for Quicken and Quickbooks by the end of 2009. Hmmm. They say that they will continue to work on desktop based applications as well as the online software, but this partnership did make me excited to see what these two will create together.
Does anyone out there use Mint to manage their money? Or online Quicken versus the kind on your computer alone? We'd love to hear about how you have taken these skills into your own systems and what you have learned.
And we will all just have to see where this partnership leads and what new fun we can have with managing and planning with your money!
Happy Bookkeeping,
Caroline
